What is Art Therapy ?
Art therapy is an expressive therapy and is based on the belief that working with art is part of the healing process. It involves creating art, viewing it and talking about it. The art therapist works with a group where each individual is given the opportunity to explore and express their feelings through painting or working with clay.
By expressing their feelings and emotions through art some cancer patients find that it helps to release the anxiety, fear and anger experienced and helps improve their well-being, others find it distracts them from their diagnosis.
